Role of Youth Congress

Role Of Youth Congress

If youth congress has to grow and acquire a character and identity of its own, it cannot happen merely on the basis of sporadic and symbolic protest campaigns on major national and international issues. Without day to day area based work, the organization is bound to become formal and remain confined to the party’s own mass base.

Integration with the basic masses and their struggles has always been upheld as a key component of revolutionary orientation of our youth movement. In recent time this orientation has became weaker.

It is very important to integrate various sections of youth community including youth in profession fields, women and youth from Socially and Economically backward background with the organization.

The youth congress should also maintain living links with certain specific streams of the democratic movements like Human Right Movement and campaign on issues pertaining to people’s health, Environment preservation, Literacy, Social and Scientific and the like.

We should discuss ways in which the gap between common youth and the organized youth movement can be bridged

The Saffron Brigade is trying to channelise the frustration and anger of the unemployed youth on communal lines. They are trying to militarize them through programs like Trishul Diksha. Historically, Fascism has always used the reserve army of unemployed youth as cannon fodder.

Under these circumstances our Youth Congress have to play a crucial role in organizing the youth in ever large number and directing their anger and frustration towards a powerful creative and democratize movement.
